As pupils develop their physical competence and capacity for learning throughout their early secondary school years, they are able to progress further onto certificate P.E. This progression is based around the learner and enables the pupil to progress at a rate which meets their needs and aptitudes. Pupils receive 3 periods of compulsory practical P.E as part of a new government scheme, in addition to the choice of certification through National 4/5 courses. The experiences and outcomes that are encountered at S1/S2 are embedded into the National courses to allow an easy progression between stages.
