Youth and Philanthropy Initiative 2014

At Bishopbriggs Academy pupils organise and participate in a wide range of charity events and S6 pupils also take part in the Youth and Philanthropy Inititiative programme. Since June 2014 S6 pupils have worked in groups to research local charities and ultimately choose one charity to support. The pupils worked hard to learn about their charity, conduct visits and interviews and create presentations with the goal of winning a £3000 prize for their nominated charity. On Friday 28th November 2014 the final took place. This showcased the best presentations and a panel of experts decided which group would win the prize. The winning group consisted of Ben Cooper, Fiona Boyd, Hannah Chesney, Millie Boyle and Jack Caven. Their chosen charity was Carers Link which is based in Milngavie which will benefit hugely from the £3000 prize.

Further information on Carers Link can be found on their website.
