World Maths Day 2013

Wednesday 6th March 2013 was World Maths Day. Almost 6 million students from over 200 countries came together to compete in Maths challenges. Pupils logged on to the World Maths Day website and were matched with three other students of a similar age and ability to compete in one minute live challenges.

All S1 Bishopbriggs Academy pupils came to the school library to compete. Almost 200 pupils took part, answering thousands of maths questions. They were competing against pupils from all over the world including England, Taiwan, USA, India, Canada, Egypt and Austria. By chance, a few pupils even managed to be matched against another person in their class!  Well done to Steven Galloway who achieved an incredible 1347 points!
