S1 European Day of Languages

S1 pupils at Bishopbriggs Academy celebrated the European Day of Languages in October 2015 with a range of fun activities designed to promote learning European languages.

Pupils worked in teams to decide which languages were official European languages and which were not before taking part in a quiz to test their knowledge of European Languages and listen to music before identifying which language was being sung.  They then went on to try to pronounce tongue twisters in English, French and Spanish – not an easy task!  Most popular of all was the selfie photo booth where pupils dressed up in stereotypical European clothing and posed for the cameras.

It was a great event enjoyed by all pupils and thanks go to Mr Hope of the Modern Languages department who organised the event and to the Modern Languages staff for all their help.
