Presentation to East Dunbartonshire Archives

Talented Bishopbriggs Academy pupils wrote and performed plays at the Fort Theatre as part of the Thomas Muir Festival. The plays were based on the life of Thomas Muir, the 18th century political reformer from Bishopbriggs. The pupils researched his life, scripted the plays and sourced props before rehearsing and performing the plays with help from the Junior Drama club. These plays have now been placed in the East Dunbartonshire Council Archive collection and will be available for people to research in the future. The presentation of plays took place at Bishopbriggs Library on Friday 28th September 2012. Pupils were welcomed to the presentation by Jimmy Watson, member of the Friends of Thomas Muir Group and also had the opportunity to talk to Scottish playwright, Peter Arnott after presenting copies of the plays to staff from East Dunbartonshire Council Archives.
