Literacy
Under a Curriculum for Excellence all subjects have a responsibility for developing literacy across the curriculum. To further this, staff at Bishopbriggs Academy have developed a number of strategies to help pupils improve their literacy skills. These initiatives include:
Literacy Toolkit
To assist pupils with improving their spelling and vocabulary, staff have produced a Literacy Toolkit for S1 pupils. This contains a list of common terms and vocabulary used in each subject. The toolkit is available here.
Correction Code
Throughout the school all staff use the same correction code when correcting pupils' work. This ensures consistency across the curriculum and helps pupils to understand the corrections made.
