International School Award 2012 - 2015

We are delighted to announce that Bishopbriggs Academy has gained accreditation for the International Schools Award. This accreditation, which lasts for three years, is awarded by the British Council and recognises the varied and vast amount of work Bishopbriggs Academy carries out with a range of international partners. Activities included our links with schools in several countries as part of Schulen: Partner der Zukunft (Schools: Partners for the Future) and our work with the Goethe Institut, pupil exchange trips with German schools, a charity languages event working with SCIAF, annual Peace One Day activities, Battlefields experiences, the Write for Rights Campaign, Water for Life Project, Fair Trade and Holocaust Education Trust visits to Auschwitz in Poland. The British Council commented that "embedded links with Germany have resulted in some excellent collaboration between your link schools". Thanks must go to Mrs K. Alexander, Mrs N. Fraser, Mrs V. Johnston, Ms M.C. Maxwell and Mr R. Walker of our International Education Committee for all their hard work in gathering evidence and submitting a superb portfolio of work to the British Council.
