Go4SET 2013

Congratulations to six of our S2 pupils who won £150 for the Best Team Work Award at the Go4SET Energy Competition. The pupils were one of 12 schools from the West of Scotland competing in March at the University of the West of Scotland. The competition saw our team work with teacher, Mr Jarvie and their mentors from the Wood Engineering group over a 10 week period. The pupils were challenged to work as a team and discover ways of saving energy at school. This involved interviewing staff at school, writing a written report on their findings and producing a display of a model classroom which was taken to the competition. They then had to give a presentation of their findings on the day of the competition.

Go4SET is an initiative designed to give school pupils an insight in to the work carried out in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Our winners - Rhiannan Ballard, Melissa Kerr, Skye Stone, Mark Adam, Mateusz Dluzniewski and Euan Watson are pictured below.
