Each of these courses is supported by Nationally provided materials (Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Higher) or by materials created in the department (Access 3 and S1/2 courses). Department created sets of materials and resources offer a variety of learning and teaching experiences which will enable teachers to meet the aims of the course as stated in the arrangements document and also retain pupil motivation at each level. Where necessary the commercial and the nationally produced materials have been supplemented to provide similar learning experiences.
